Getting started

Is vaping really safer than smoking?

Yes — significantly. Public Health England has consistently estimated that vaping is around 95% less harmful than smoking, and the NHS now recommends it as one of the most effective tools to quit. Vaping isn’t risk-free, but for an existing smoker the harm reduction is enormous.

What kit should I start with?

For ex-smokers, a pod kit or mouth-to-lung (MTL) starter kit is almost always the right starting point. They’re small, simple, and give you a tight draw similar to a cigarette. Avoid big sub-ohm “cloud” kits at first — they take a different inhale technique and can feel overwhelming. See our Vape Starter Guide for details.

What nicotine strength do I need?

Match it to how much you currently smoke:

• Light smoker (under 10/day): 3mg or 6mg freebase, or 10mg nic-salt.
• Average (10–20/day): 12mg freebase or 10–20mg nic-salt.
• Heavy (20+/day): 18mg freebase or 20mg nic-salt.

If in doubt, start a notch higher. Underdosing is the #1 reason people go back to cigarettes.

What’s the difference between freebase and nic-salt?

Freebase nicotine is the traditional form — smooth at lower strengths, but harsh at higher strengths. Nic-salts are smoother at high strengths and absorb faster, which feels closer to a cigarette. If you’re a heavy smoker, nic-salts are usually a better starting point.

What is a shortfill?

A shortfill is a larger bottle (typically 50ml or 100ml) of nicotine-free e-liquid with extra space at the top, so you can add a 10ml “nic-shot” to bring it up to the strength you want. UK law caps nicotine-containing bottles at 10ml, so shortfills are how vapers get bigger bottles. Full guide here.

What does VG/PG mean?

E-liquids are made of two base liquids: VG (vegetable glycerine) and PG (propylene glycol). VG is thicker and produces more vapour; PG is thinner and carries flavour better.

• 50/50 (PG/VG): for MTL pod kits and starter kits.
• 70/30 or 80/20 (VG/PG): for sub-ohm tanks that produce big clouds.

Are your products TPD compliant?

Yes — every product we sell complies with UK and EU TPD regulations. All bottles up to 10ml, all nicotine strengths up to 20mg, all packaging tamper-evident and child-resistant.

Where are your e-liquids made?

Our own DNA E-liquids range is blended in the UK to TPD standards. Other brands we stock come from established UK and European manufacturers we’ve worked with for years.

Coils, tanks & troubleshooting

Why does my coil taste burnt after a day?

Most often, it wasn’t primed properly. Always drip 4–6 drops of e-liquid onto a fresh coil’s wick holes and let it sit for 5–10 minutes before vaping. Also avoid chain-vaping and keep the tank topped up. Full guide on extending coil life.

How long should a coil last?

With good habits, 1–2 weeks. Heavily sweetened liquids (custards, desserts) shorten this; fruit and menthol blends extend it.

My tank is leaking. Help.

Three usual causes: (1) the coil isn’t fully seated — remove and re-seat it; (2) you’re using a 50/50 liquid in a sub-ohm tank — switch to 70/30; (3) the seals are worn — most tanks come with spare O-rings.

Can I mix flavours?

Absolutely. Most vapers eventually settle on a custom blend. Start by mixing two flavours you already like at 50/50, then adjust. We’ve a few tried-and-tested recipes here.

Do you ship internationally?

Currently UK only. We’re looking into EU shipping in 2026.

Can I return e-liquid?

Only if it’s still sealed and unopened. For hygiene reasons we can’t accept returns of opened bottles. Faulty hardware is covered by a 30-day warranty — message us first and we’ll arrange a replacement.

Is there a minimum age?

You must be 18 or over to buy any product on this site. We carry out age-verification checks on every order in line with UK law.
